Empowering Children
Through Play Therapy

Providing safe & supportive programs to help you and your child navigate key stages of development.

We Can Help

Do You Have Concerns About Your Child’s Behaviour or Development? We’re Here to Help.

With children between the ages of 2 and 12, traditionally accepted counselling methods are largely ineffective: at such a young age, children do not yet have the words for most of their feelings. Instead, Tidda Counselling offers children a calming, therapeutic space to express and work through their feelings in a non-verbal way through the child’s natural language of play.

This is play therapy: an extensively proven, professionally recommended and completely evidence-based treatment for any child with behavioral, emotional, social, developmental and/or psychological issues. It is based on the belief that any child can express their innermost feelings and challenges through play, and can subsequently heal themselves, regulate their own feelings and behaviours, and make long-term improvements to their lives through their own effort.

Play Therapy

Supporting Children and Their Parents Through Difficult Times

Play therapy may be an effective treatment for struggling children, but it is often recommended to engage parents in the same methodology. That way, you can create a positive therapeutic environment for your child at home, not just in our playroom. Though that may sound daunting, what you’ll come to find is that filial therapy and parent coaching actively strengthen parent-child relationships, take stress away from the parents, and most importantly teaches parents the skills they need to address any issues their child(ren) may have in a constructive, therapeutic and age-appropriate manner.
