About John
John Antonio
John is a Social Worker, Counsellor, and Clinic Manager at Tidda Counselling, bringing over a decade of experience across social work, disability services, education, leadership, and community practice in Australia and internationally. He has completed a Master of Social Work and is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), a Registered Victorian Disability Practitioner with the Victorian Disability Worker Commission (VDWC), and a Lifetime Member of the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA).
John specialises in supporting children and families experiencing emotional, behavioural, developmental, and relational challenges, with particular interests in neurodiversity, trauma, anxiety, attachment, and the impacts of family violence. He utilises Child-Centred Play Therapy, LEGO®-Based Therapy, and strengths-based interventions to help children develop emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and healthy coping strategies while supporting families to better understand and respond to their child’s unique needs. John believes that early therapeutic intervention and collaborative family involvement can create meaningful and lasting change in children’s lives.
As Clinic Manager, John provides both clinical and operational leadership, working collaboratively with families, schools, NDIS stakeholders, and multidisciplinary professionals to deliver high-quality, ethical, and evidence-informed care. Guided by trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based principles, he is committed to creating safe and nurturing environments where children and families feel supported, strengthen relationships, and achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes.
